when it rains, it pours....

It seems when things are starting to get back to "normal" we are rocked by more bad news.... sadly, today is no different...

My sister posted on her blog a few days ago about her recent miscarriage. My heart hurts for her, Brad, and our whole family daily... (close family were the only ones that knew, the girls still don't know) She also posted about how we are 5 years apart and never went through the same stages together..... we've always dreamed how fun it would be to be pregnant @ the same time!! It was almost a reality... (who's to say it can't still happen) She has two beautiful, healthy daughters that are the center of our families universe!! We do not question God, we know he has a plan for us all!!

My papaw Grant has been having pains in his chest the past few months... after a series of tests, today it was confirmed he has stage IV lung cancer... my heart is so heavy words can't describe the overwhelming sense of sadness. I have never not known what specifically to pray for?? I will admit I am mad.... but @ who, what?? I don't know if I've just had enough for a while or just don't understand why all this is happening??????????

It's at times like these that I wonder how people without a faith get through each day.... especially when they're knocked down so many times..

My philosophy has always been PUSH - pray until something happens!! I know I do not understand Gods plan all the time but I do trust in His word!!

Please continue to pray for my family, specifically my grandpa right now!!

**I would love to hear your favorite bible verses

James 4:8 "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you"

Psalm 20:4 "May He give you the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed"

Psalm 34:15 "The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry."

I love how His eyes never leave His children and He always hears our cries of sorrow or praise!

Sarah, these have helped me in tough times..

James 1: 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 1:12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

Sarah,
I am so sorry that this has been such a difficult time for you and your family.

We just finished a series at church on Romans 8 It's a great chapter that I think is very encouraging when you in the middle of difficult circumstances. Especially verses 18-30.

Just know that we will be praying for you and your family.

Sarah as you know I know that feeling all too well of "when it rains it pours" it seems like for years I wore those chains of heartache and pain for many reasons. My all time favorite verse that I can truly relate to "tough" times is Isaiah 40:31 " but those who hope in Lord will renew their strength, they will mount up on wings like eagles, they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not be faint" Just when things in life that are out of our control( which I have learned pretty much everything in life is!) that that season of grief and sadness and loss is not replaced but renewed with a season of GREAT joy!!! Love you lots.

THE VERSE THAT WAS/IS CLOSE TO MY HEART WHEN I HAD TWO MISCARRIAGES WAS PSALMS 37:4 "DELIGHT THYSELF IN THE LORD AND HE WILL GIVE YOU THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART." MY MOM CONSTANTLY TELLS ME IICOR 5:7" FOR WE WALK BY FAITH NOT BY SIGHT."
SO SORRY THAT YOU GUYS ARE HAVING SUCH A HARD TIME RIGHT NOW. CLING TO THE LORD AND EACH OTHER AND KNOW THAT LOTS OF PRAYERS ARE BEING LIFTED FOR YOU.

I found your blog through Kelly's corner prayer blog.... Your strength and faith absolutely amaze me. One of my favorite bible verses is "be still and know that I am god" It can apply to almost any situation and I live by it. I also Like "The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" Psalm 34:18

Oh.my.word. I am sooo sorry to hear about both Amber and your Grandpa! Well people say things happen in threes....so hopefully this is the end of difficult things for a while! I don't know a specific verse to tell you, but I do know that during tough times I like to listen to the song, "I will praise you in this storm".

I have clung to these verses over these past few months and I firmly believe that I should have been clinging to them for the past 20 years....

...Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 --

Humbly obey God regardless of present circumstances, and in his good time-either in this life or the next – He will lift you up. Don’t submit to circumstances, but to the Lord who controls circumstances…

Your family is so strong and faithful you will pull through this with one another and with all who are praying for your family. I was 14 when my grandfather was diagnosed with stage IV, I remember being angry, hurt and so full of emotions I had not felt before. I wish at that age I would have had just an ounce of your faith! You and your family are strong! And we love each one of you!

Isaiah 43:2
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And when you pass through the rivers,
They will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.

i think and pray for you and ben often.
